This is one of our designs, using metals mixed with wood gives you that rustic appeal, use darker paint colors but be sure and break up a dark color with something lighter like a chair rail or just accent one wall in dark and the rest light, silver trays make unique art work in any kitchen/dining area (these are from the antique mall $10-$20 each).
Anytime you can buy a vintage leather bound book...do so!
